Greetings again, Choombas. Here we go now, this time, you’re going to want to get your pen and paper ready.

We’re going to talk about the proportional rule for armor and the maximum layers rules.

Fun stuff. OK, make sure. Take notes on this one gets a little deep. All right. Now, I meant usually when I’m playing most of the games I’ve been in, we not use these rules because they’re they’re a bit difficult to figure the math on. They’re a bit of a pain.

So I haven’t used them. But I’m going to give you the rules as they are stated in the book. And I’ll mention my previous video on speed and layering and stuff. I knew there was these rules were here, but I couldn’t I didn’t I didn’t find them in my quick look through the core book before I made that other video. So I appreciate the comments there that mentioned the page number and stuff. That’s what I was looking for. I thought it was actually a different book, but it was in the core book.

It was page one or two, one on one and one or two. And here we go on the math. OK, for this particular example, we’re going to do subdermal armer.

That’s an eighteen. That’s a piece of Cyberpunk plus metal actual plates below your in your chest. We’re going to talk about torso, the torso area only. We’re not going to read about the rest at the moment. So subdermal armor layer one in because we count inside out. So layer one is inside is subdermal spatting. Layer two, we’re going to do a Kevlar t shirt and Kevlar t shirt of an SPF ten. And that’s our second layer. Third layer.

We’re going to do a heavier armor trench coat. We’re going to say it’s hesp value of twenty five, this particular trench coats, not from the book. We’re going to say it’s a custom item. We talk to our wrap we came up with it’s an SPF twenty five. That’s a real expensive, high quality deal, good materials, good workmanship, all that stuff. So it only has an EV of two. Now to go back a little bit, that subdermal armor that has an EV of zero and the ten esp Kevlar t shirt that has an excuse me, an IV of zero as well.

So if we just add up our Evy’s that point we have to for the trench zero and zero. OK, now to deal with a proportional rule, let’s do that. One first proportion rule says you don’t add up eighteen, ten and twenty five. What’s that. Eighteen, twenty eight and twenty five. They’d be what. Fifty three. You don’t use. That’s not your. No no. We’re going to use proportional roll now. So that means we take we go from the inside out again.

Eighteen and a ten Menier subdermal in your T-shirt you subtract those the lower from the greater your difference of eight now a difference of eight when you look it up on that proportional armor chart gives you a bonus of four. So we actually do eighteen and four. Twenty two. So the combination of your subdermal and your Kevlar T-shirt gives you a 22 ESP total. OK, now we take care of the trench. Now the trench is 25, your previous total.

Twenty two. So the difference is three. Look up three on the chart, three on the chart. Difference gives you a bonus of five. So we take our 22, add five gives us a total espie for the package for the subdermal, the Kevlar T-shirt and the trench gives us a total of twenty seven S.P.. I remember this isn’t this is a rating of the armor’s ability to keep you from keep your character from getting injured. Doesn’t mean that bullet may stop at some point in between or whatever it is.

You still get the count, the half damage if it’s an AP or excuse me, no half ESP if it’s AP armor piercing rounds or blades, all those kinds of things. But so but back to the back to the proportional roll. So now SPF of twenty seven, that’s what we have for that whole package. But we’re not done. The jacket, the trench coat. Had any of you two, we already decided that.

But with the layering rules, the maximum armor rules we have subdermal is our first layer. So nothing there from the extra rule we have our Kevlar shirt. That’s our second layer. No second layer gives you an additional even minus one or plus one, depending on how you’re at it. I can only be one. So with our trench, that’s three. Now that’s our second layer to go to our third layer, we take an additional e.V. of two.

Right. So now we’ve got two from the original from the trench, one because we had two layers additional to. Yeah. See what I said. Confusing additional two for the third layer that gives us an IV total of five. Right there is our five. So now, whatever our current reflexes are, soberer or not, whatever that total number is, you subtract five. If you’re wearing all these layers, you subtract five from your reflexes that your current reflex number to use with skills.

So like I said, rewind it, play me in slow motion. Get through the example. If you have any more questions on that one, go into it now. This is why having additional softcover walls, data terms, other stuff is really beneficial because those will also give you bonuses for coverage and then you can also get into heavier vehicles, SDP, that kind of thing. But we’ll we’ll cover that more than another one wanted to get through this proportional Armorel and the maximum layers armorel this is the overview covers those things.

If you have a specific example you’d like me to cover. Give me the give me the numbers down the comments. I’ll do another video. We’ll cover that exact example. Your specific case questions, comments even below apologizer in that last that other video. I kind of missed the mark there a little bit because again, I, I thought the layering of those rules were in a different book. My mistake happens. I don’t have it all memorized. Been playing it for decades.

Still don’t have it all memorized. So everybody’s got something to learn. Right. Anyway, there’s those rules, comments, all the stuff that you two want you to do, see in the next video.
